Filippo Stefanini

Filippo Stefanini

Bio: Filippo Stefanini has been Head of Hedge Fund & Manager Selection at Eurizon Capital SGR since 2012.
Previously, in 2008, he started at Eurizon AI SGR (later Eurizon Capital SGR) as Head of Research. Between 2007 to 2011, he was an adjunct professor at the University of Bergamo, where he taught Risk Management. He started his asset management work in 2001, when he joined Aletti Gestielle Alternative SGR where he helped set up the company, holding various positions until he became responsible for asset allocation. Previously, in 1999-2001 he was with Accenture working in the areas of asset management and investment banking.
An author of several books on hedge funds, Filippo graduated in Management Engineering (1998) at the University of Bergamo.

Bernard Aybran

Bernard Aybran

Bio: Bernard Aybran is deputy CEO for Invesco Asset Management SA and CIO for multi-manager portfolios and funds of funds at Invesco. He joined Invesco in July 2008. Bernard previously launched a multi management subsidiary for Edmond de Rothschild in France, both for private wealth management and institutional clients. Up until 1999, he was with SocGen Asset Management, where he helped setting up a multimanager range. He started his career in 1994 with a fund performance measurement company, as head of databases and studies. Bernard holds a post-graduate degree from Dauphine University in Paris, France.

Susanne Bolin Gärtner

Susanne Bolin Gärtner

Bio: Susanne has been Head of Fund Selection in Folksam since 2009. She is also responsible as Head of Product and Business Development at Folksam. She has previously worked for various employers in senior positions within bank and insurance companies, including Alecta (2007-8), SEB Trygg Liv (2003-2006), Max Matthiesen (2000-2002) and various roles at SEB from 1985-2000. She is Folksam’s representative in Swesif and also a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts (SFF).

Jon Beckett

Jon Beckett

Title: Author of New Fund Order
Location: London

Bio: A fund selector and strategist for over 15 years, a gatekeeper for one of the UK's largest insurance platforms, with a portfolio of senior roles including Association of Professional Fund Investors, CISI, think tanks, independent Chief Investment Officer, non executive, columnist and global presenter on a variety of fund management and macro issues.
Jon ‘JB’ Beckett has long been an outsider of the ‘City’, a Scot looking in, challenging the status quo and casting light on the relationship between fund selectors and fund managers.

Celebrating excellence

The InvestmentEurope Industry Personality of the Year Awards 2015/16 were announced during a ceremony that took place alongside the Fund Selector Forum Italy in Milan on 5 November 2015.

The Awards are intended to celebrate those who are deemed by their peers to have done most to foster the role of the fund selector and the industry.

Personality Awards were this year handed out to fund selectors in Benelux, France, Germany, Iberia Italy, Nordics Switzerland and UK, with an overall Award going to Jörg Schmidt (pictured), vice president; Multi Asset Management and head of Fund selection strategy at Union Investment in Germany.
