Asia in focus of Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ Soo Nam at Tel Aviv Forum

Soo Nam, head of Asian Equities at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, will consider how to use a contrarian approach to tap into returns from growth in the broader Asia region, when he presents at the Tel Aviv Forum, taking place 6 December at the Hilton Tel Aviv.

As the huge Chinese economy takes another stride forward under the supply-side reforms of president Xi Jinping, including the One Belt One Road policy of economic engagement with other countries in the region, there are signs of another cycle of quality growth that should lead to steady growth in corporate earnings. Soo Nam will consider the extent to which this has set the stage for a multi-year equity rally.

The Head of Asian equities at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, based in Singapore, Soo Nam is responsible for building the investment process in Singapore and expanding the offering for Asian investors. Currently he supports the team on research for stocks listed in Hong Kong and China. He joined one of the Columbia Threadneedle Investments firms in 2013 and has extensive experience in the industry. Previously, he was chief investment officer at Nikko Asset Management. Prior to that, he was chief investment officer at Mirae Asset Global Investment Management and a fund manager at Schroder Investment Management. He has been a member of the investment community since 1995.
