AXA IM’s Matthew Lovatt to outline thematic investing at Oslo Roundtable
Matthew Lovatt, global head of Business Development at AXA Investment Managers is set to outline thematic investing when he takes part in the Oslo Roundtable 2017, taking place 8 June in the Norwegian capital.
Lovatt’s argument is that themes such as emerging markets, consumer, lifestyle longevity, connected consumers, global technology and robotics are driving growth, and mean that managers must develop solutions to take advantage of the economic changes that these themes will bring about.
Key points to be touched on include evidence of waves of innovation over the years, current key investment themes, and how investors should best invest in robotics.
Lovatt joined Framlington in April 2004. Before that, he was chief executive of Quaestor Investment Management from 1999 and previously marketing director for the same firm for five years. The quantitative firm initiated the launch of one of Europe’s first equity market-neutral funds in 1997. He worked for Henderson Administration from 1987 through to 1994 where he was initially responsible for risk and performance and then for establishing a quantitative research capability. Matthew gained a BSc (Hons) in Economics with Statistics from Bristol University in 1985.
