Candriam to discuss EMD at Frankfurt Roundtable

Charudatta Shende, senior client portfolio manager at Candriam will discuss a non-benchmarked approach to emerging market debt (EMD) at the InvestmentEurope Frankfurt Roundtable held at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof on 22 February.

Shende will argue that differentiation will be increasingly important in order to achieve outperformance in EMD. As a manager of the Candriam Bonds Emerging Market Total Return fund,  he will introduce a benchmark agnostic value approach in order to navigate geopolitical and monetary policy risks in emerging markets.

Shende has been a senior client portfolio manager within the fixed income team at Candriam since September 2016. Since then, he has been responsible for the communication and messaging  regarding all FI strategies, with a strong emphasis on EM Debt and Credit. He has over 12 years of experience in the asset management industry, with 10 years within the fixed income universe.

Prior to joining Candriam, he was a product specialist at Carmignac Gestion, in France, where he was in charge of communication on the fixed income funds. He began his career with Pioneer Investments in Dublin, where he was a product research analyst.
