Carlos von Hardenberg of FTI discusses FM at Reykjavik Roundtable

Growth and investment opportunities in frontier markets will be the focus of Carlos von Hardenberg, senior vice president & director of Frontier Markets Strategy at Franklin Templeton Investments, when he joins the upcoming Reykjavik Roundtable, hosted by InvestmentEurope at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica on 5 September.

Domestic consumption and technological innovation are among the key themes arising out of economic growth in frontier markets, while geographic regions such as the Middle East show particular promise, von Hardenberg is set to argue.

In his capacity at FTI, he is responsible for setting overall strategy towards this asset class, as well as coordinating the resources and coverage using FTI’s group expertise, to add value via the Frontier Markets Strategy for the Templeton Emerging Markets Group. He is portfolio manager on the Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust Plc, and collaborates on global emerging markets strategies.

Before joining FTI in 2002, von Hardenberg was an analyst in the corporate finance department of Bear Stearns International in London. He has an MSc with distinction in investment management from London City University Business School and a BSc with honours in business studies from the University of Buckingham. He speaks German, English and Spanish.
