EdRAM to discuss EM bonds at Pan DACH Summit
Jean-Jacques Durand, lead portfolio manager of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (EdRAM) Emerging Bonds will discuss finding value in emerging market bonds at the InvestmentEurope Pan DACH Summit held in Munich on 10-11 May.
Durand will argue that as many of these countries entered a commodity bear market and exercise deleveraging in a much stronger situation than in the past: Now offering higher reserves, low hard currency debt, flexible exchange rates and some other adjustment variables. According to Durand, there is a lot of value to be found in today’s depressed markets.
He joined EdRAM in September 2011 as senior portfolio manager of Emerging debt and currencies. Prior to joining the EdRAM, Jean-Jacques founded his own Macro Commodities fund management firm, Gecko Capital Partners Ltd, where he worked as founder and lead portfolio manager from 2008 until 2011.
Prior to that, he worked among others as director of the Global Structured Products Department at Standard Bank PLC focusing in Emerging Markets and Commodities and for Crédit Agricole Indosuez, where he was responsible for Emerging Markets Structured Products from 2002 until 2005.
