FFTW’s Johnson to discuss absolute return approach to fixed income at Frankfurt Focus
Alex Johnson, head of Absolute Return Fixed Income at Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (FFTW) will present a risk-budgeted approach towards Absolute Return in Fixed Income at the Investment Europe Fund Selector Absolute Return Focus held in Frankfurt on 21 April.
According to Johnson, diversification is key to a risk-budgeted approach, in order to ensure that no one theme dominates expected return, and the funds performance remains uncorrelated with the direction of fixed income markets.
As head of Absolute Return Fixed Income for FFTW, a BNP Paribas Investment Partner, he is responsible for the management, growth and development of global absolute return strategies, and he is the portfolio manager for multi-strategy absolute return portfolios. He served as co-head of Global Fixed Income for FFTW having previously been head of Portfolio Management.
He joined from Fortis Investment Management in 2010 when the firm integrated into FFTW. Overall, he has over 12 years within the BNP Paribas organization and over 18 years of global fixed income portfolio management experience.
