Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2017/18 – winners revealed

Schroders and Evli Fund Management Company came away as Group category winners at the Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2017/18, announced on the afternoon of 30 November in London.

The Awards, which this year took place at The Andaz Hotel in the City, celebrate not only the funds and groups that make up the asset management industry, and which are active in the key European markets served by InvestmentEurope, but also highlight fund selectors recognised by peers.

Hermes and Edmond de Rothschild also stood out as winners and highly commendeds were announced across 18 product categories, as well as the Specialist Group of the Year, Group of the Year, and Personalities of the Year.

The Awards utilise a methodology involving a quants screening (provided by Thomson Reuters Lipper), to reach shortlists for categories of funds, which are then subject to a qualitative assessment (performed using the SharingAlpha platform) to arrive at the winners.

A similar process – combining performance scores of fund selectors via the SharingAlpha platform alongside factors such as peer nominations, length of service in the industry and AUM responsibilities – was used to identify this year’s Personality Awards.

Full details of all the winners will be included in a special supplement attached to the upcoming issue of the InvestmentEurope magazine.
