Mark Hawtin, investment director at GAM responsible for running global long only and long/short funds invested in technology is set to discuss the sector at the 3 December Fund Selector Forum Israel, which is taking place in Tel Aviv.

The sector is developing off factors such as the estimated 6.6 billion mobile network subscriptions worldwide and rapid evolution of cloud computing. Hawtin is set to argue the case for active investment to avoid overvalued technology companies.

Hawtin joined GAM in October 2008 from Marshall Wace Asset Management, where he was partner and portfolio manager. Previously he spent seven years at Enskilda Securities.
