John Malloy of RWC Partners to discuss EM at Lausanne Summit
John Malloy, portfolio manager, Emerging Markets at RWC Partners will discuss emerging market equities at the upcoming Pan-European Summit Lausanne 2016, 19-21 April.
With emerging markets having underperformed developed market equities, there are attractive risk/reward balances to be accessed, also in mind of continued better GDP growth rates in EM than DM.
RWC Partners looks to EM by analysing macro risk at the country level first, before looking to global themes that may be driving growth rates of companies that are taking advantage of those themes. Its third key level of analysis is research on location in the relevant markets, to identify what it feels are reasonable values for the businesses being tracked. Malloy will seek to illustrate how this approach has produced alpha with a high active share.
Malloy has some 23 years of experience in global investment management, equity, fixed income, currency and commodity research. Before joining RWC in March 2015 to manage the RWC Emerging Markets Equity Fund, he spent 18 years at Everest Capital where he focused on emerging markets investing. Formerly, he was a high yield manager at Barings, focusing on Latin America and US markets. He has a BSc in Management from Norwich University and an MBA from Boston University, and speaks Spanish.
