Aegon Asset Management’s Frank Meijer to attend Tel Aviv Forum

Frank Meijer head of European ABS and Mortgages Team at Aegon Asset Management, Dutch sister company to Kames Capital, will put forward his views on the asset class at the upcoming Tel Aviv Forum 2017, taking place 6 December at the Hilton Tel Aviv.

The opportunities in ABS come as spreads on government and corporate bonds have continued to tighten, and with yields falling it makes diversification into areas such as consumer credit more interesting. ABS offers exposure to collateral secured by mortgages, car loans and credit card receivables, among others, which Meijer will address during his presentation.

For investors, the benefits include yields, diversification of risk and protection from inflation. The experience with the asset class comes via Kames Capital’s sister company Aegon Asset Management, which oversees €18bn globally of which €5bn is in European ABS.

Meijer joined Aegon AM in 2000. He is a member of the Asset Liability Committee of Aegon Bank and a permanent guest lecturer at the Amsterdam VU University. Prior to his current role, he was also responsible for the Quant Group and set up the Structured Credit Desk. Before joining Aegon AM, he worked at ABN AMRO in the Credit Risk Modelling & Product department. He holds an MSc in Physics, cum laude, from the University of Groningen and a PhD in Physics from Delft University of Technology.
