Lazard’s Paul Rogers considers South America at Stockholm Summit
Paul Rogers, portfolio manager/analyst at Lazard Asset Management is set to consider risks, reforms and recommendations as they affect investors in South America, when he takes part in the upcoming Pan-Nordic Fund Selector Summit, hosted by InvestmentEurope in Stockholm 10-11 March at the Grand Hotel.
Factors affecting the region include US interest rates and the strong dollar, as well as both a low and volatile oil price. 2014 was also a big year for elections in the region, with political risks cited in markets such as Brazil.
The question for investors now is how will the region perform in 2015, given additional micro factors which can impact on bottom up opportunities for stock pickers.
Paul Rogers is portfolio manager/analyst on the Emerging Markets Core Equity and Latin American Equity teams at Lazard.
Prior to joining Lazard in 2011, he served as the managing director of Emerging Markets Research at Fidelity Management & Research Company. Before that, he spent 14 years at Deutsche Asset Management where he was at first an analyst and later a portfolio manager on the Scudder Latin America Fund, the Brazil Fund, the Scudder Latin America UK Trust, the Argentina Fund and a number of institutional accounts.
