Nicolas Janvier to attend Hamburg Summit
Nicolas Janvier, portfolio manager, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, is set to outline US smaller companies shine as rates rise when he takes part in the Pan-European Summit Hamburg 2018, which runs 17-19 October at the Hotel Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall.
Janvier provides his insight into the opportunity set for investors within the single most dynamic, liquid and diverse equity market. He will detail the frameworks he enforces to uncover the most compelling investment propositions, and provide insights into the franchises he believes can show improvements in margins and returns. The idea is to own companies through the steepest part of their growth curve, where most alpha is typically generated. This approach has the potential to generate consistent returns over the medium-to-long term.
Janvier has been portfolio manager for Threadneedle American Smaller Companies fund since 2015. He joined the company in 2014 as a portfolio analyst in the US Equities team, and is responsible for researching US companies across the consumer staples, materials, telecoms and utilities’ sectors. Prior to this, he spent eight years with Columbia Management, where he worked as a portfolio manager in the Value Strategies team focusing on US mid and small cap companies. Before this, he was a portfolio manager with the Private Bank at Bank of America.
