Ian Heslop (pictured), head of global equities at Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) will discuss diversified alpha from equity markets at the InvestmentEurope Pan European Fund Selector Summit held in Hamburg on 7-9 October.

Heslop will argue that diversified alpha, the availability of several types of stocks in the portfolio at any one time, offers a consistent source of outperformance.

Heslop stresses that this strategy should be applied in combination with stringent risk-management techniques, carefully controlling turnover and trading costs, and maintaining strict limits on sector and stock positions.

Heslop has over 18 years’ experience in fund management. He has played a leading role in the development of OMGI’s global equity offering, supported by Amadeo Alentorn and Mike Servent. The team were Investment Week 2014 Global Equity Fund Managers of the Year. A further three analysts complete the team.
