Schroders’ Tom Walker to join Tel Aviv Forum

Tom Walker, co-head of Global Real Estate Securities at Schroders will be joining the upcoming Fund Selector Forum Tel Aviv 2016, taking place 7 December at the Hilton Tel Aviv.

Walker’s investment theme will focus on ‘Global Cities’, in mind of the UN forecase that by 2030 some 8.5 billion people will be living in cities around the world.

The challenge for investors is, as Walker says, “not all cities are equal”. They will be fighting for investments in oder to deliver the infrastructure required to manage such vast numbers of people living close together. There is an argument that the most important cities will become more important than the countries in which they are located, as is seen, for example, in the level of economic power that London already enjoys versus the rest of the UK.

Walker will outline which cities he believes will be the winner in this rush to create the powerful Global Cities of the future.

Walker joined Schroders in July 2014 as a fund manager, Global Real Estate Securities. Before Schroders, he was deputy head of global listed real estate at AMP Capital from 2005 to 2014. He has over 16 years of property experience and holds a BA Hons in Politics from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a Graduate Diploma in Real Estate from London South Bank University.
