Tarek Saber to join Miami Summit

Tarek Saber, head and lead portfolio manager of Convertible Bonds Team at NN Investment Partners will outline his views on the asset class at the Funds Society Fund Selector Summit produced by Open Door Media, which takes place at the Ritz Carlton Miami 28-29 April.

Arguing that the asset class has outperformed through the cycle over the past four decades, Saber note that convertible bonds typically offer lower volatility than equities and lower default rates than high yield bonds. As such they offer the opportunity to access returns from both rising equity and credit markets.

As an investor, Saber looks globally for investment opportunities, using the credit research facilities of NN Investment Partners. In his current role since 2014, Saber is responsible for the management of convertible bond portfolios at NN Investment Partners in London.

Between 2011 and 2014 he was CEO/CIO Avoca Convertible Bond Partners LLP and head of Convertible Bond Strategies, also based in London. Before that he held several positions such as CEO/CIO of 8 IM in London, head of Corporate Opportunities Fund at APG/ABP Amsterdam, global head of Convertible Bonds at HSBC London, head of Convertible Bonds and GDR trading at Schroder Securities/J Henry Schroder and joint head of Convertible Bonds, NatWest Markets in London.

Saber has an academic background as a mechanical engineer, having financed his studies through jobs including selling health insurance and Kirby vacuum cleaners. He collects books on psychology and is passionate for rock music and motorcycles.
