UBS AM’s Kevin Barker considers China at Copenhagen Roundtable

Kevin Barker, senior equity specialist at UBS Asset Management is set to discuss the outlook for China when he takes part in the upcoming Copenhagen Roundtable 2018, hosted by InvestmentEurope in the Danish capital on 30 October.

Under the heading China – Is the year of the Dog a bad or a good omen?, Barker will consider how equities investors should approach the story of the world’s second biggest economy.

He initially joined UBS Asset Management as a trainee fund manager in 1983. He managed UK equity portfolios and was the Building and Engineering analyst. Barker left UBS Asset Management at the end of 1994, taking a position as head of UK equities at Foreign & Colonial. He developed and implemented a value based UK equity process, leading a team of around 20 portfolio managers and analysts. He then re-joined UBS Asset Management in 1998, taking on a senior portfolio management role and also acting as client director on a number of large funds, becoming deputy head of UK equities.

In 2007, he moved to an Equity Specialist role, initially focusing on UK equities, and broadening his responsibilities to Europe, before being promoted in 2010 to lead the Equity Specialist team globally.
