Zurich Forum to address market risks for Swiss Pension Funds
The impact of growing market volatility on Swiss pension funds will be a key theme of the half-day InvestmentEurope Pension Fund Forum held at the Park Hyatt in Zurich on 11 November.
The event, which will be chaired by Andreas Valda, parliamentary Correspondent for Swiss newspapers Bund and Tagesanzeiger, includes seven speakers, ranging from academics to industry experts.
Keynote Christian Takushi, strategist at Zurich-based Geopolitical Economics will outline his theory of a super crisis, set to take place between 2015-2018.
The event will open with presentations risk management strategies, including Stephan Meschenmoser, managing director Client Solutions at iShares as well as Dominik Locher, partner and CEO of Zurich-based asset manager Theta.
Alex Gitnik, head of Fixed Income at Standard Life will discuss how to address market uncertainties when building a credit portfolio in today’s volatile environment.
A panel of Emmanuel Fragnière, professor Risk Management at International Institute of Managmeent Geneva and Daniel Sütterlin, risk management expert at Swiss pension fund Publica will discuss whether it makes sense to include volatility as a risk model in portfolios of pension funds.
Raimund Müller, head of UBS ETF at Switzerland and Liechtenstein will then present Alternative Beta as a strategy for delivering returns.
