The Dutch and French are the biggest internet bank users, according to the latest comScore survey of online banking habits across Europe.

The Netherlands ratio of two-thirds of internet users accessing banks online is the highest worldwide. In France, 59.9 percent of the internet audience access sites such as Crédit Agricole and Société Générale.

Sweden is in third place, with 55.9 percent of online users also banking online, with the UK following on 53.2%, just ahead of Finland on 53.1%.

147.5 million European internet users visited online banking sites in December, comScore reported, representing 38.7 percent of the total European internet audience identified.

Its figures also identified the most popular banks online during the period. Dutch bank ING Group attracted most - 11.2 million unique visitors - slightly ahead of French bank Crédit Agricole with 10.7 million unique visitors. In third place was Lloyds Banking Group with 9.4 million Europeans visitors during the month.
