Capital Dynamics fund closes with $111m for venture capital

Capital Dynamics has closed Capital Dynamics Champion Ventures VII, a US-based programme targeting top-tier US venturemanagers or pre-eminent international venture firms with strong US ties.

The firm is an independent asset manager focusing on private assets including private equity, clean energy and infrastructure, and real estate.

The Capital Dynamics Champion Ventures VII fund raised $111m in committed capital and has already made several commitments. Many of the funds have commenced investing and some have already experienced IPOs of underlying portfolio companies.

The firm has a network of relationships dating back to 1991. It manages prior generation funds of funds with over 150 US venture fund holdings representing more than 40 managers.

Spencer Punter, director and head of US Venture Capital at Capital Dynamics, said the fund attracted capital from existing and new institutional investors as well as high net worth individuals.

Headquartered in Switzerland, the firm has offices in London, New York, Zurich/Zug, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Silicon Valley, Sao Paulo, Munich, Birmingham (UK), and Brisbane. Capital Dynamics comprises Capital Dynamics Holding AG and its affiliates.
