International real estate advisor Savills has appointed David Poole (pictured) to head its valuation team in France.

Based at the company's Paris office, David will be responsible for developing Savills' valuation business in France to include valuation related advisory work.

Poole will also work on extending the company's existing domestic and international client base.

Poole joins Savills from property services company DTZ. He had been working in DTZ's Paris valuation team since 2001 working with institutional and international clients.

This is the second important hire for Savills in Europe this month.

Last week it announced it had appointed Jan Stemshorn to its Cologne office as an associate director in the industrial agency team.

Jan joined Savills from BNP Paribas Real Estate where he spent five years. His most recent position there was senior consultant in industrial services.

Savills opened its Cologne office at the beginning of January 2012 with the recruitment of a former Cologne-based BNP Paribas Real Estate team headed by Elmar Wirths.
