UBS Global Asset Management, Switzerland's largest mutual fund manager, has appointed Stephen Hutton from Zurich Intermediary Group as its new head of UK wholesale.
The CHF 569bn asset manager said Hutton would be responsible for growing the Swiss house's £2.3bn UK wholesale division and overseeing the UK sales team of eight people.
At Zurich Intermediary Group Hutton was northern head of distribution and platform proposition.
He has also overseen Fidelity International's IFA sales team, and worked at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Invesco Perpetual Investment Management.
Rob Lay, head of wholesale, Europe and the Middle East, said: "We have made great strides in building our third party wholesale capabilities in the UK and Europe and Stephen's appointment is a key part of this strategic initiative."
UBS Global Asset Management's product suite spans traditional and alternative asset classes including in equity, fixed income, currency, hedge fund, real estate, infrastructure and private equity investment. These can be combined in multi-asset strategies as well as run discretely.
