Patrick Goebel has joined law firm Dechert LLP's financial services and investment management group as a partner in Luxembourg.

Previously at Allen & Overy LLP, Goebel has been brought in to further strengthen Dechert's presence in the three key funds jurisdictions across Europe: Dublin, London and Luxembourg.

Goebel will advise on all types of retail and private Luxembourg investment vehicles including UCITS, private equity funds, hedge and other alternative investment funds, real estate funds and funds investing in a variety of non-financial assets.

Marc Seimetz, managing partner of Dechert Luxembourg said: "Patrick is a highly regarded and dynamic lawyer in the Luxembourg financial services investment funds space. I'm delighted to welcome him to the firm."

The appointment follows the news in Janaury this year, when Dechert opened its Frankfurt office, staffed by funds and finanical services lawyers Achim Pütz, Carsten Fischer and Benedikt Weiser.
