Skagen Funds appoints new CIO

Skagen Funds has appointed Alexandra Morris as investment director as of September 2016, she is set to take over from CEO Leif Ola Rød, who has been acting Investment Director since April of this year.

Leading a 23 person strong investment team at Skagen, Morris will work closely alongside CEO Leif Ola Rød.

Morris joins SKAGEN from DNB Asset Management where she has been Chief Investment Officer since August 2015. She has a background as portfolio manager and financial analyst. From 2004-2015, she was senior portfolio manager of two of Odin’s European mutual funds before joining DNB Asset Management as CIO.

Morris has also served on several boards, including Nordic Nanovector, a biotech company listed on the Norwegian stock exchange and as chairman of the nomination committee of Kongsberg Gruppen, a large defence company in Norway.
