AllianceBernstein’s Mike Levy moves to Barings EM equity team
Mike Levy joins Baring Asset Management as senior investment manager in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) equity team. He moves from AllianceBernstein, where he has been investment manager since 1998.
Levy will be based in the London office and will report to head of the EMEA equity team Ghadir Abu Leil-Cooper. He has assumed his duties as of yesterday.
“We believe there is a compelling long-term investment case for the EMEA region driven by attractive fundamentals,” Leil-Cooper says, justifying the expansion of the team.
She believes the region is supported by “favourable demographics, forming a strong and underleveraged consumer base and relatively low levels of government debt compared to developed countries.”
Barings focuses on growth and suitable pricing in its investment philosophy. The manager has $2.9bn under management at end of May across its Eastern Europe, Russia, Emerging Europe and Middle East & North Africa funds and segregated institutional mandates.
