BAML appoints Elfring and De Giorgi to head EMEA corporate and investment banking
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has appointed Bob Elfring and Diego De Giorgi as co-heads of global corporate and investment banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Both will be based in London. De Giorgi will join from Goldman Sachs where he was partner and chief operating officer of the Investment Banking Division in New York.
Elfring joined the firm in 2011 as head of Investment Banking for Benelux and Northern Europe. Prior to this he was head of Investment Banking for Northern Europe, including Benelux and Scandinavia, at Credit Suisse.
They will report to Christian Meissner, head of Global Corporate & Investment Banking and to Alex Wilmot-Sitwell, president of Europe and Emerging Markets (ex-Asia), who will be also joining the firm in the coming months.
According to an internal memo seen by Investment Europe, in their new roles, which are subject to usual regulatory approvals, they will work together to drive the growth of the banks’s corporate and investment banking franchise.
