bfinance announces key hire from SEB hedge fund unit
Pension consultants bfinance have made their second high profile appointment in two weeks by hiring Chris Jones from London fund of hedge funds Key Asset Management, to be head of alternatives, starting next month.
Jones was chief investment officer at Key, a $2bn institutionally-focused fund of hedge funds based in London. It is part of the SEB group.
He has 18 years’ experience in hedge funds, and lectures on the topic and and risk management at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, where he is a fellow.
He has degrees from both Oxford University and the University of Cambridge.
About $12bn of the $100bn of allocations for which bfinance has advised have been in hedge funds, with a further $8bn in private markets.
Jones will help institutions invest in hedge funds – directly and indirectly – as well as alternative beta and replication products.
Bfinance last week announced it had hired Michel Haski as head of EMEA institutional coverage. Haski was with Allianz Global Investors Europe, as chief executive officer in Europe, and co-head of sales. He was also director general von Allianz Global Investors France.
