BlackRock appoints two members to its Board

BlackRock has appointed Fabrizio Freda and Jessica Einhorn to the company’s Board of Directors.

Einhorn will join the Board immediately and Freda will join in October, the asset management company said.

Freda is president and chief executive of The Estée Lauder Companies.
He was appointed to the role in 2009, where he succeded William Lauder. He joined the company in 2008, having previously worked at Procter & Gamble’s.

Einhorn, is former dean of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies  at The Johns Hopkins University.

She served as dean from 2002 until June 2012 and she spent nearly twenty years at the World Bank.

“Fabrizio Freda will bring valuable insights on running a large company with diverse worldwide operations and powerful consumer brands, and Jessica Einhorn will add further breadth to our Board’s diverse experience with her expertise in international finance, economic development and public policy,” said Laurence D. Fink Chairman and CEO at BlackRock.
