BTG Pactual launches new bond fund

BTG Pactual Asset Management is launching an actively managed emerging markets bond fund.

The BTG Pactual Sicav, which will take local currency exposure to emerging market countries using government bonds and interest rate derivative products, will be marketed internationally for institutional and retail investors.

The fund’s London-based co-CIO, David Anderson said: “Our culture is emerging markets. It is what BTG Pactual is known for and our international investors, both institutional and now retail, will be able to benefit from these skills.”

Steve Jacobs, chief executive of BTG Pactual Asset Management, said: “We have made significant returns for our hedge fund clients in the local currency emerging markets space. This new fund offers global investors a chance to access that talent in a Ucits structure with daily liquidity.”

The fund is Luxembourg Ucits IV compliant and uses the JP Morgan GBI-EM Global Diversified Index as its benchmark.
