Carmignac Gestion adds to fund management team
Carmignac Gestion has appointed Vincent Steenman to strengthen its portfolio management team.
He starts in January and will take over the management of the international long-short equity fund Carmignac Market Neutral. He takes over from Maxime Carmignac, who is leaving to go on maternity leave.
Steenman will join the alternative strategies team alongside François-Joseph Furry, manager of Carmignac Euro-Patrimoine.
Steenman is a partner at Zadig Asset Management, where he has worked for more than five years. Prior to Zadig, he was a global buy-side analyst at LVMH-Groupe Arnault Family Office, where he worked with Furry. Previously, he was a financial analyst at the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley in London.
Carmignac Gestion has appointed 60 new staff over the past two years to support growth plans. Of these, 11 have joined the fund management team as fund managers and analysts.
Maxime Carmignac will take on managerial responsibilities within Carmignac Gestion when she returns.
