Carmignac still hiring, with new analyst for EMEA
Carmignac Gestion has added to its Emerging equities expertise with the appointment of Edward Cole, 37, as analyst responsible for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will take up this role on 4 February.
Cole (pictured) has been covering emerging market equities for 12 years. He spent the last six years co-managing emerging markets funds, first at Ashmore Group, and then at Finisterre Capital. Prior to this, he was an equity strategist for six years, latterly covering EMEA at JP Morgan Securities.
Carmignac Gestion’s Emerging Equities team now has five members, headed by Simon Pickard. Cole’s particular contribution will be to explore one of the firm’s key investment themes: the improvement of living standards in emerging countries, in particular for the Carmignac Emergents, Carmignac Emerging Discovery and the Carmignac Emerging Patrimoine funds.
Over the last three years, 76 new staff have been taken across Europe. The fund management team has been further strengthened by the arrival of thirteen fund managers and analysts since 2010.
