ClearBridge names Glasser co-CIO, changes name
ClearBridge Advisors, a subsidiary of Legg Mason, has appointed Scott Glasser co-CIO of the investment management business.
He joins current CIO Hersh Cohen in overseeing the firm’s investment strategies. The two have worked together since 1995, co-managing the firm’s appreciation strategy until 2009.
Glasser first joined a ClearBridge predecessor back in 1993 and began his work as portfolio manager the following year. He has also served as director of research and currently sits on the firm’s management and risk committees.
Glasser remains co-portfolio manager of the appreciation strategy. His position as co-manager of the large cap growth strategy will be taken over by Margaret Vitrano, who will work in this role alongside Peter Bourbeau.
At the start of the coming year ClearBridge Advisors will also be changing its name to ClearBridge Investments, which it says “better reflects the firm’s business focus.”
