Collabrium Capital’s Banerji joins QFC Board
Arnab Banerji, founder and chief investment officer of emerging markets manager Collabrium Capital, has been appointed to the board of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority.
Banerji is the latest Non-Executive Director to join the QFC Authority Board, the development arm of Qatar’s financial services sector. He will be advising on the regional growth strategy for Qatar, and in particular, the further development of Doha as a leading financial centre.
Banerji was formerly Chief Investment Officer of Foreign & Colonial, overseeing an investment portfolio of $100bn, before he left to become Senior Policy Adviser on Economic Affairs to former British prime minister Tony Blair.
He was one of the first institutional investors investing in emerging markets at the beginning of the 1990s, and has served on numerous prestigious boards advising on emerging market investment and activity.
Collabrium Capital runs a long/short public equity fund and private equity operation. The former focuses on investments in the quality growth companies of the future. The private equity arm specialises in longer term investments in emerging markets and is developing a pipeline of private equity projects in Asia and Africa.
