Coutts appoints chief risk officer for Asia

Coutts, the wealth division of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, has appointed Errol D’Souza as chief risk officer for Asia.

The appointment, based in Singapore, is effective immediately. D’Souza will be responsible for a risk team of more than 40 individuals across Singapore, Hong Kong and India. Regionally, he will report to the chief executive of Coutts Asia, Nick Pollard, and functionally he will report to the chief risk officer of Coutts International, John Savage. D’Souza replaces predecessor Jill Britton, who left the role in November.

Prior to joining Coutts, D’Souza was chief risk officer at UBS Wealth Management Singapore, which he joined after leaving his role in Hong Kong as head of Pacific Rim credit risk (global wealth management) at Merrill Lynch. He has also held positions in risk management at ING in Hong Kong and Citigroup in Mumbai.
