ETF Securities appoints ex Merrill Lynch exec head of distribution EMEA
ETF Securities in the UK has hired former Bank of America Merrill Lynch executive Matt Johnson as head of distribution for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the group’s distribution strategy across the EMEA region. He will report into Graham Tuckwell, chairman and CEO of ETF Securities.
Johnson has over two decades of institutional distribution experience. He has previously held senior positions in equity derivative sales at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley and has also worked at JPMorgan Asset Management.
In his most recent role at Bank of America Merrill Lynch he was co-head of derivative sales across EMEA and responsible for a number of content driven sales teams, as well as the bank’s client management group.
ETF Securities is an independent exchange-traded product provider and a pioneer in commodities. It offers a range of other alternative investment solutions, such as currencies and thematic equities.
Tuckwell said: “With more investors looking to gain exposure to commodities, we want to ensure that our clients have the support they need every step of the way.”
As at 28 September the provider was responsible for $30.3bn in global investor assets.
