Fund managers join Oriel Asset Management
UK-based Oriel Asset Management has entered into an agreement with Williams de Broë Asset Management over the running of the WDB Oriel UK Fund, the WDB Oriel European Fund and the WDB Oriel Global Fund with assets of £90m.
Managers Patrick Barton and Richard Scrope have joined OAM, ensuring continuous responsibility for the da-to-day discretionary management of the funds, a statement said.
Barton, with more than 30 years of industry experience, runs the WDB Oriel UK Fund. He joined Williams de Broë in 2001 after leaving Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was UK banks analyst and head of Pan-European banks research. Scrope runs the WDB Oriel European and Global Funds. He joined Williams de Broë in 2008 following the acquisition of Singer & Friedlander Investment Management, where he worked on European mandates.
Williams de Broë Asset Management will remain as the Authorised Corporate Director, and the funds’ investment objectives are unchanged. Barton said OAM is a “strong platform and ambitious boutique at an early stage of its development”.
“OAM’s focus on providing support for talented fund managers creates an attractive environment in which to deliver good returns for our clients,” he added.
Tim Hall, chairman of OAM, said the agreement builds on the momentum of the firm’s recent Ucits fund launch.
