Headhunters hunted in the Middle East and North Africa
Recruiting firm Ochre House Limited, backed by UK-based NBGI Private Equity, has acquired two strategic resourcing firms in the Middle East and North Africa, TAAHEED and Carmichael Fisher.
The acquisitions, both Dubai based, will significantly expand Ochre House’s international capabilities in response to increasing client demand, the firm said.
“We are already one of the fastest growing talent management businesses in Europe and Asia and have an established partnership with one of the US’s leading players, Pinstripe,” says CEO Chris Herrmanssen.
“Acquiring TAAHEED and its sister company, Carmichael Fisher, provides us with a key piece of the jigsaw we need to deliver truly global talent acquisition and management solutions.”
Founded in 2009, TAAHEED works with locally owned and international companies across the Gulf and northern Africa, providing both project based recruitment and full recruitment outsourcing. The TAAHEED team has more than doubled in the past year, while revenues have grown by almost 200%.
Operating locally since 2006, Carmichael Fisher was part of the global Carmichael Fisher group and is a major player in the region, with sector specialisms in banking and financial services, education, healthcare, construction and transportation, telecommunications, media and technology, and professional services.
NBGI Private Equity typically invests in businesses valued between £5m and £50m, managing in total approximately €900m through a number of funds in the UK and across Europe. It invests in established businesses alongside strong management teams, supporting business development plans and providing additional funding for both organic growth and acquisitions.
Belinda Berkeley of NBGI Private Equity commented that since the management buyout of Ochre House in 2006, the firm has grown revenues by more than 40% a year, even during the recession, and at a time when the recruitment sector more broadly was suffering. In 2011 Ochre House placed over 7,500 professionals across 40 countries.
