Henderson GI appoints head of Australian funds business
Henderson has named Rob Adams to spearhead its investment management business in Australia.
Adams will be based in Henderson’s Sydney office, and will be reporting back to the main board. Adams has over 20 years’ experience in the industry both in Australia and the UK, was most recently executive at Challenger Funds Management, a division of ASX listed Challenger Limited, which he joined in 2003.
Adams said: “The Australian market is one of the most sophisticated markets in the world, driven by its compulsory pension structure and quality intermediation. Henderson already has an excellent reputation as a pure, focused and results-driven firm and I am looking forward to building on that and helping create a sustainable and scalable Australian business.”
Australia and UK listed fund manager Henderson Global Investors, which has £66.7bn assets under management globally, is pursuing a strategy to grow its footprint in high-value markets in the Asia Pacific region, including China, Japan and Australia.
