Hermes confirms CEO appointment
Saker Nusseibeh has been appointed chief executive of Hermes Fund Managers, with immediate effect. This appointment comes following a thorough external search process.
Nusseibeh joined Hermes in June 2009 as a main Board Director and Head of Investment to drive, support and represent the investment capabilities of Hermes. He brought more than 25 years of experience in investment management to Hermes. He created the Investment Office, which is responsible for ensuring that all investment teams can and do generate investment excellence.
Paul Spencer CBE, chairman of Hermes Fund Managers, said: “Over the past four years, Hermes has undertaken a major investment programme to build the right investment and operational infrastructure. With this phase in our evolution now complete, we believe that Saker is the right leader to take Hermes forward, as we progress into the next stage of our growth and reaffirm our commitment to being a first class asset manager. He has been instrumental in developing the investment business since joining the company in June 2009 as a main Board Director and Head of Investment.”
Nusseibeh said: “It is a great privilege to be appointed chief executive of Hermes Fund Managers. Hermes has a long history of generating outstanding investment returns through a responsible and innovative approach. This has been achieved through the excellence, integrity and commitment of our people. I am confident that we will build on the strong investment performance generated to date and continue to meet the needs of our clients, while growing our presence in the external market.”
Nusseibeh will remain as Head of Investment, a role he has continued in over the past six months while acting as interim chief executive. Since its inception, the Investment Office has hired senior managers with in-depth investment knowledge, talent and experience. This team will take on increased day-to-day responsibility for the Investment Office, but will still report into Saker.
