HFR’s Godden to head up managed account platform at Sciens
John Godden has joined Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings to head up its managed account platform.
Godden was previously head of European business at competitor HFR Asset Management, before leaving to set up his own business.
The new role was created by Sciens as a response to the continued growth of the Sciens managed account platform.
Between April 2010 and August 2011, the assets on the platform increased by 72% to nearly $700m.
At HFR, Godden built the assets under management in the European business to more than $4bn. He developed and ran its managed account platform and helped launch the HFRX hedge fund indices.
The new hire follows the appointment of Tim Wilkinson as President of Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings in June.
He moved over to the firm from Russell Investments, where he was managing director in charge of business development and distribution.
Both new hires report to Dr Stavros Siokos (pictured), chief executive officer.
Sciens’ hedge fund business is part of Sciens Capital Management Group, an alternative asset manager with around $5bn in assets under management in funds of hedge funds, advisory, private equity and real assets. The Group has offices in New York, London, Guernsey and Athens.
