House joins SLI to head new EMD team
Standard Life Investments has hired former Threadneedle EMD head Richard House to lead its drive into the emerging market debt space.
House will be joined by two of his former colleagues at Threadneedle, Mark Baker and Nicolas Jaquier, who have joined SLI as investment directors.
Rod Paris, the group’s head of investments, said SLI will be looking to launch new emerging market bond mandates for the team after they officially arrive in July.
“The strategic decision to increase our capability in emerging market bonds will enhance the suite of solutions we have designed to help clients achieve their investment targets,” said Paris.
“As well as bringing the ability to run emerging market bond mandates the new team will also enrich the many global fixed income and multi-asset strategies that are run by Standard Life Investments.”
Last week Threadneedle announced it was reorganising its fixed income department amid House’s exit, with plans to create a global macroeconomic strategy group
