HSBC’s Germany MD to head EMEA sales
Heiner Weber, HSBC Global Asset Management’s managing director for Germany, has taken on the additional role of head of institutional sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He reports to Rudolf Apenbrink, chief executive for EMEA (pictured).
Weber is now responsible for sales in the firm’s institutional business centres across the EMEA region, including UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Middle East ,as well as the European consultant relations team.
He has worked in the equity sales and global markets units of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt since 1995 and has held the position of managing director for Germany since 2002.
HSBC Global Asset Management has $429.4bn in assets under management as at end of March, with aapproximately $239bn in the EMEA region. Its funds are available across 15 countries in the region, including UK, France, Germany, Turkey, Malta and Saudi.
Its particular strategic focus is on emerging markets, where it already manages $140bn and anticipated further growth.
