IEPlus: Standard Life Investments manager rejoins after Africa sojourn
Fund manager Wesley McCoy has rejoined Standard Life Investments as an investment director in the Global Equities Team, after spending time in Africa running the Microloan Foundation in Malawi.
He joined Standard Life Investments in 1999 and left in 2008 to work first at the Microloan Foundation and then for Standard Bank Africa, supporting new businesses in Malawi.
On his return to the UK, he worked for Odey Asset Management on a global multi asset hedge fund.
Previously while at Standard Life Investments McCoy was a UK retail and institutional high alpha manager, appointed fund manager for the UK Equity Unconstrained Fund when it was launched in 2005.
David Cumming, head of Equities, Standard Life Investments, said McCoy was “a highly rated and well regarded fund manager with an excellent track record.”
