ING boosts institutional distribution team in Frankfurt
ING Investment Management has hired Thomas Wendt to its institutional sales team in Frankfurt.
He is working as a senior sales director for institutional clients, reporting to the firm’s Frankfurt-based managing director, Susanne Hellmann.
She said Wendt (pictured) would help strengthen client relations with pensions, insurers, and corporates.
In doing this he will build on the work of Michael Schrinner, who has expanded on the institutional business of ING in Germany. Since October 2007, he held the position Wendt is taking on.
Wendt will look after the acquiring of new institutional clients, and also advise them on the development of their investment strategies.
He has more than 14 years’ experience in asset management and fund distribution, most recently as business development director at Aviva Investors Global Services, responsible for the acquisition of institutional clients.
His responsibilities there stretched to Austria and Switzerland.
He has also worked as director of institutional sales and marketing for pension solutions at Invesco Asset Management, as senior relationship manager for the distribution of Universal Investment, and portfolio management positions at Gothaer Asset Management.
