ING IM finds European marketing head
ING’s investment management arm has appointed André van den Heuvel its head of European marketing, leaving Michel van Elk to concentrate on his responsibilities as chief executive of the region
Van den Heuvel is set to join ING IM on 1 May 2011. Elk has held the role van den Heuvel will inherit since 2002. In November 2009, Elk became European chief executive after Gilbert Van Hassel was promoted to global head of ING IM.
Van den Heuvel moves from Blackrock, where he headed up its Benelux institutional business and sales. He has worked in the asset management industry since 1988.
Previous roles included being head of marketing and sales for the Netherlands at F&C, and before that, portfolio manager of fixed income for Robeco.
Van den Heuvel is registered as a senior investment manager with the Dutch Securities Institute, and with Dutch market watchdog AFM. His appointment at ING IM is subject to regulatory approval.
