Investec names new EM fixed income manager

Investec Asset Management has named Victoria Harling as co-portfolio manager of the Investec Emerging Markets Corporate Debt Strategy. Harling will also take responsibility for corporate emerging markets debt and hard currency emerging market debt.

Harling, who joins Investec from Japanese financial services group Nomura, will co-manage the Investec Emerging Markets Corporate Debt Strategy with Peter Eerdmans, head of the emerging markets debt and currency team.

The strategy, which launched to investors in April 2011, forms part of Investec’s suite of emerging markets fixed income strategies. It is available as a Luxembourg Sicav and will offer clients exposure to a diversified portfolio of corporate debt across emerging markets.

Co-chief investment officer, Domenico Ferrini, said: “We continue to build upon our established track record as a specialist fixed income manager by creating relevant investment capabilities for our clients. Victoria’s skills will further strengthen our specialist team to capture the investment opportunities we see evolving over the medium-term in this area.”
