Investment mega trends gleaned from NIC 2030 report
The National Intelligence Council in the US has published a document outlining what it calls “mega trends” by 2030, which could have profound effects on investors.
One of the key trends taking shape is activity in the area of food, water and energy.
The increase in the global population will create significant new supply and demand drivers for these, the report suggests.
However, the speed of change forecast also raises questions around the ability of policy makers to respond quickly enough to the changes as they happen on the ground.
Meanwhile, the impact of new technologies may result in non-state actors taking a bigger role in implementing responses to the changes that do happen.
