James Hambro gets ready for RDR market with new appointment from UBS
James Hambro & Partners, a London-based asset management partnership, has appointed James Horniman from UBS Wealth Management as Partner.
Horniman has been at UBS Wealth Management since 2007, working as a Team Leader and portfolio manager in the UK domestic business, responsible for a team, managing assets of more than £500m.
Previously, Horniman was for five years at HSBC Investment Management as director and team leader in the UK private client business. Whilst at HSBC Investment Management, Horniman was also on the investment policy committee and worked as a member of the UK equity team.
Horniman started his career at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management in 1993. He worked within the UK private client department and was also a member of the institutional UK equity team with responsibility for various industry sectors.
James Hambro Group, headed by chief executive Andy Steele, is an asset management partnership with has nine partners, overseeing assets in excess of £1bn.
In August James Hambro & Partners merged with Calkin Pattinson & Company, a wealth planner, in preparation for the retail distribution review (RDR) market, due to be introduced in the UK next January. The merged entity will offer an integrated, holistic service to its clients.
The two companies will have combined assets of more than £1bn under management, advice and administration.
James Hambro & Partners, founded in 2009, manages discretionary investment portfolios for 102 families, charities and trusts, worth £480m in assets under management and administration. Calkin Pattinson, established in 1964, advises 2,000 private clients and charities on financial planning issues, and in addition has £600m in assets under management.
