Legal&General expands multi-asset team
Legal & General Investment Management has announced the appointment of Justin Onuekwusi as a fund manager focusing on the firm’s retail and risk-profiled multi-asset funds.
Onuekwusi joins LGIM’s 18-strong strategic investment and risk management (SIRM) team which specialises in multi-asset solutions and pooled funds.
Onuekwusi joins LGIM from Aviva Investors where he was lead manager on a range of the firm’s risk-targeting multi-asset funds, as well as co-fund manager on a number of unit-linked life and pension funds and manager of manager products. Justin previously worked as a fund research analyst at Merrill Lynch and an investment consultant for Aon Consulting.
Building on a team based approach and working closely with LGIM fund managers Bruce White and Martin Dietz, Justin will be the lead manager for the Legal & General Multi-Index range which launched on 21 August 2013.
The range consists of five risk-targeted multi-asset funds that are diversified by asset class, offering exposure to UK and international equities and bonds by investing in L&G’s popular index tracking funds and to UK property through the actively managed L&G UK Property Trust.
John Roe, head of Strategic Investment and Risk Management, Legal & General Investment Management commented: “Justin’s extensive experience in managing multi-asset risk targeted funds will be a great complement to our team’s capability, especially as we bring our new Multi-Index Funds range to UK advisers.
“We’ve designed these funds so advisers can more readily match investment portfolios to a client’s risk profile, knowing that our multi-asset team will continuously monitor and dynamically manage the funds’ asset allocation mix with the objective to maintain the pre-determined risk profiles.”
