Mercer hires from Russell, Standard Chartered in Asia
Global consultant Mercer has hired a duo for its Asian wealth management business, based in Singapore, in its bid to strengthen its presence in the region.
Edmund Teo is joining to lead the local team, while Pierre DeGagne has been appointed to support him.
Teo moves to Mercer from his position as regional director at Russell Investments, where he advised and structured investment solutions on a wide range of investment activities.
He will report to Cara Williams, global head of wealth management in London.
DeGagne joins from Standard Chartered Bank, where he headed up funds selection. He will be responsible for providing investment advice and solutions to wealth management companies.
Apart from the two new hires, Mercer’s Asian wealth management team consists of 17 other Singapore-based employees. It provides portfolio management services to Asian-based private banks, insurance companies, consumer banks, financial planning organisations and platforms.
